General Information

The Dallas Cemetery is operated by Dallas Cemetery District No. 4. It is a taxpayer-supported special district under the State of Oregon. It is a local government entity created by the Dallas local community to meet a specific need, in this case, cemetery maintenance. The district includes the property formerly known as Odd Fellows Cemetery. An elected Board of Directors establishes and organizes policies and regulations. An irreducible maintenance fund has been established to provide investment income for the partial funding of future cemetery expenses. Current price schedules and copies of auxiliary rules and regulations are available upon request.
Visiting: We strive to maintain the beauty and serenity of these memorial grounds. Visitors are requested to conduct themselves in a dignified manner. Cutting or removal of plants or flowers are prohibited. No liquor or weapons may be brought onto the grounds.
The Dallas Cemetery requires an outer burial container for below ground burials. This is for both traditional casket burials and cremation burials.

Outer burial containers for traditional casket burials can be either a burial vault or a grave box.

· A Burial Vault is a lined and sealed outer receptacle that houses the casket. It protects the casket from the weight of the earth and heavy maintenance equipment that will pass over the grave. It also helps resist water and preserves the beauty of the cemetery or memorial park by preventing the ground from settling.

· A Grave Box is an unlined concrete box with drainage holes to allow ground water to escape. It also protects the casket from the weight of the earth and heavy maintenance equipment that will pass over the grave.
Outer burial containers for cremation burials can be either a classic cultured marble or urn vault.

· A Classic Cultured Marble Urn is a type of urn vault made from cultured stone, which is a mixture of crushed stone, designer resin, and pigments that imitate the look of natural marble. It is crafted from cultured stone and has an interior vault that will protect the cremains and is virtually indestructible. This urn does not require an additional urn vault.

· A Urn Vault is designed as an outer enclosure for a cremation urn when buried in the ground. You may place any urn in this urn vault that will fit. The vault is made of durable ABS plastic and permanently seals with adhesive tape.
The Cemetery Prohibits the Burial of Wood, Plastic Or Glass Urns, as they are easily breakable and decay quickly. If you have any concerns about your previously purchsed urn please reach out to the office and we can help with deciding the proper steps to keep your urn preserved underground.
